Overview of Combi Treatment
You are here: Services Technologies Combi Treatment

Properties and advantages

Combi treatment
Bulletpoint Substitution of expensive materials
Bulletpoint Targeted optimisation of tool and component properties
Bulletpoint Significantly longer tool life / component life
Bulletpoint Increased production reliability and delivery reliability
BulletpointTailored solution based on diversity of coating solutions
Bulletpoint All types of PVD coatings like TiN, CrN, CrN-multilayer,
CrN-mod and DLC can be applied
Bulletpoint Beneficial mechanical properties of the core materials,
such as toughness, remain unchanged in this process
Bulletpoint Surface treatment may be applied either in one single process or two seperate ones
Bulletpoint Improvement of fatigue properties by residual compressive stresses

You can find more detailed information on the segment-specific advantages of the surface solutions here.

Combination-treated components, by way of lower material costs (substitution of expensive materials) and a decline in processing costs (redundant fabrication steps), significantly reduce production costs.

Process

In combi treatment, the substrate is initially plasma nitrided after a PVD coating is applied.
This coating is ideally supported by the nitrided surface.
