IONIT® is a plasma
nitriding and plasma
nitrocarburising techno-
logy for alloyed steel,
cast, sinter, and special
materials.
The IONIT OX® technology
combines conventional
technologies such as gas
nitriding/gas nitro-
carburising with plasma
nitriding and oxidation.
A particular feature of the
treated surfaces is their
excellent corrosion and
wear protection.

PVD stands for Physical
Vapour Deposition. In this
technology, using arc
vaporisation, cathode
sputtering or a combina-
tion of both (hybrid)
metals are applied to
the substrate as a thin film
of micrometer strength –
effecting significant
improvements of tools
and component properties.

combination treatment
with plasma nitriding
and PVD are apparent,
to take only one area of
application, with automo-
tive components
and
in the plastics industry.
A plasma nitrided surface
has an excellent support-
ing effect for the PVD
coating
that is then
applied. Special solutions like the diffusion coating
Psolid for plastics
industry are part
of the market- oriented development activities.
